The Best Adventure…
Regardless of Experience

If you’re an experienced fisherman, Iron Mountain’s expert outdoorsmen can help you find the perfect place to set up to pull in the catch you’re looking for. If you’d prefer a guide, you can hire a local to take you out and show you all of the secret fishing holes in the area. Our outfitters have everything you need when it comes to tackle, too, in case you forgot something, need to replace something, or just want to buy a few new toys.

If you’re new to the sport, welcome! Iron Mountain and the surrounding areas offer the perfect place to become an expert fisherman. We can set you up with tackle that fits your budget, and you can learn from the best as you explore fishing for the first time. Our outfitters work with children and adults alike, and you can feel confident that they will give you the hands on attention you need to become the best fisherman you know.

Catch of the Day

Fly Fishing

Fly fishing is hugely popular in the area, and we can help you find everything you need to learn how to tie flies, cast, and reel ‘em in. From rods to waders to each of the little things that make fly fishing unique, we have it all.

Whether you’re a beginner or have advanced skills, you may want to go on a guided expedition while you’re here. Our guides know these waters better than anyone else, because they have fished on them all their lives. Follow them to find the best fly fishing spots, as well as to learn new techniques or improve on the ones you already use.

Fishing Logistics

You can fish on the boundary waters with either a Michigan or a Wisconsin fishing license, but you will need one from Michigan to fish any of the other lakes or streams in the area. Under most circumstances, you can apply and pay for a fishing license online, through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. If you run into any problems getting your license, one of our local experts may be able to help you resolve it.

You are welcome to bring your own boat when you visit Edgewater. We have piers where you can tie up on Menominee. If you want to bring your own motor, you are welcome to do that, though we also have motors you can rent for the duration of your stay. If you don’t have a boat or can’t transport it, we have those available for rental, too.

Fishing is a favorite sport of many in Michigan, and we would love to welcome you into our ranks. Let us know that you’re interested when you book your cabin, and we’ll help you start setting up your adventure today!
